The Venue

RCW 139 returns one again to the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville hotel! Formerly the Radisson Plaza Hotel, RCW 139: Due It Again! (1997), RCW 139: A Cop, A Mountie, and A Convention (1998), RCW 139: Ride Forever (1999), RCW 139: Toronto Holiday (2008), and RCW 139: Duesers' Day Off (2010) have all been held there. We're pleased to renew our association with the hotel for RCW 139: From A Million Miles.

The Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville is ideally located in the fashionable Yorkville district of downtown Toronto, with direct access to the city's two main subway lines. The hotel features 222 comfortable rooms, recently renovated during the summer of 2009. All rooms feature 42" LCD Screen TVs, swivel desks, ergonomic desks and chairs, and more. The hotel has a restaurant, fitness centre, and sauna, and is only minutes away from many Toronto attractions. For more details, please consult the hotel website.

Booking a Room

We have a block of rooms reserved at the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville for August 16, 17, and 18 2012, at a special rate of $149/night. This is actually the same price that was offered to attendees for RCW 139 in 2008! Note that after our allotment of rooms is gone, there is no guarantee that we will be able to get more rooms at the same price.

For those wishing to stay a few extra days and visit the attractions around Toronto, the special rate will also be valid up to 3 days prior to, and up to 3 days after the convention (August 13 - August 21), although RCW 139 does not have rooms blocked off for August 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, and 21. Reservations for these dates will be first-come first-serve, and subject to availability. The special rate will allow you to book either a room with one King size bed or two Queen size beds. All rooms are non-smoking.

We therefore encourage you to book early. Please note that in 2010, our block of rooms was sold out on some days and we can't guarantee that extra rooms will be available if this is the case again.

Getting to the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville

From Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ):

By taxi - You can take a taxi from the ground transportation (lowest) level. This will set you back approximately $50, and can take from 20 minutes to 45 minutes or longer, depending on traffic.

By bus/subway - Buses also pick up at the ground transportation level. The easiest and quickest way to get to the hotel is to take route 192 "Airport Rocket" to Kipling station, and then hop on the subway and exit at the Bloor/Yonge station. Fares are currently $3.00 a person, which includes the transfer to the subway. Note that bus drivers do not provide change. This should take approximately 45 minutes.

From Union Station:

By subway - Take the subway towards Finch and exit at the Bloor/Yonge station. $3.00, about 10 minutes.

Driving:

Take exit 375 off Highway 401 (Don Valley Parkway) and head south. Stay on the Don Valley Parkway and exit at Bloor St, then head west on Bloor St. The hotel will be on the right.
